The book that I recommend is a book by Liz Kessler called The Tail of Emily Windsnap. I think that girls would rather read this book because it is about mermaids. This is a story is about Emily Windsnap who lives with her mother on a boat. Emily has always wanted to go for swimming lessons but her mother always says no, but today was different. When she goes for her first lesson something strange happens to her legs in the water. She wants to find out what happened to her that afternoon so at night when her mom is fast asleep she goes into the water and then a beautiful tail forms. She goes further into the water and finds a beautiful mermaid who becomes her best friend. Emily and her friend find out that Emily’s dad is still alive and in prison. They go on an adventure to unknown places to find why he’s in prison but who knows what what mischief they might get into. There are two more books after this called Emily Windsnap and the Monster from the deep and Emily Windsnap and the Castle in the mist.
